What changed in update v42.30
1 October 2026
- Fortnitemares 2026 started on 1 October with this update, the earliest launch of the event in years.
- Announced collaborations: Five Nights at Freddy’s, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Slender Man, Beetlejuice, Black Clover and The Purge.
- Horror-themed map: Battlewoods is rebuilt (with an Elm Street area for Freddy Krueger) and Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria replaces the old Arcade.
- New Vampire Sprite: recover health by damaging enemies.
- Free Halloween reward: a skin unlocked by completing 26 event quests.
