Regulation Set M-C Arrives in Pokémon Champions
2026-09-05
Pokémon Champions enters a new competitive window on September 8, 2026, when Regulation Set M-C takes effect; it runs through December 1. The headline change is an expanded Mega Evolution roster, continuing the game's gradual rollout of Mega access species by species rather than all at once.
Three Pokémon gain a traditional Mega Evolution for the first time under this set: Salamence, Golisopod, and Baxcalibur. Alongside them, Absol, Garchomp, and Lucario receive the newer Z Mega Evolution, a variant introduced specifically for Pokémon Champions. In total, the update opens up 24 newly recruitable Pokémon, including returning VGC staples like Rillaboom.
Nothing is being removed: every Pokémon legal under the previous regulation set stays legal under M-C, so this is a straightforward expansion of the available pool rather than a reshuffle. The exact roster can be confirmed in-game via Recruit → Recruit Pokémon → Roster Info → Pokémon Featured in This Roster.
For teambuilding, it's worth checking the new Mega and Z Mega options against existing sets before M-C goes live — a fresh Mega form can shift a Pokémon's optimal item, ability, and speed tier overnight. Use the Pokédex entries below for base stats and typing on each of the seven species involved, then run updated matchups through the Damage Calculator once you've settled on a set.
