The Fastest Pokémon by Base Speed: Top 10
2026-10-14
Speed decides who acts first in a turn: when two Pokémon choose ordinary moves, the faster one moves first. That is why a high Speed stat is so valuable. It lets a Pokémon knock out its target before it can answer, or set up a move before the opponent reacts.
This ranking uses base Speed, the fixed number you see in the Pokédex, and leaves out Legendary and Mythical Pokémon so the list shows species you can meet in everyday teams. The data comes from the Mar7ianWeb Pokédex, which covers 1,025 species, 931 of them non-legendary.
The top 10 is: Ninjask (160), Pheromosa (151), Electrode (150), Accelgor (145), Dragapult (142), Barraskewda (136), Iron Bundle (136), Flutter Mane (135), Jolteon (130) and Aerodactyl (130).
Ninjask is first by a clear margin, but its Defense (45) and special stats (50) are the price of that speed. Dragapult is the interesting one: it combines 142 Speed with a Dragon/Ghost typing and a solid offensive stat line, so it is fast and still dangerous. Electrode and Jolteon are the two Electric types in the list.
Base Speed is not the whole story. The number you actually face in a match also depends on level, nature, training and held items, and moves with priority act before Speed is even compared. For that reason it is worth testing real numbers: the Mar7ianWeb damage calculator and team builder compute the final stat with the same formula, so you can check who outspeeds whom before you commit to a team.
Use the Pokédex to open any Pokémon in the list and see its full stat bars, types and abilities.
